Bustin' Loose Barbershop Quartet

Barbershop and Vaudeville All Rolled Into One!

[Under Construction]

Ah, yes. The year was 1984. Picture of the year was Amadeus. You were probably watching the most popular TV show, "Dallas" and wondering who shot JR? During the commercials, someone who looked like your grandmother kept asking us, "Where's the beef?" Mary Lou Retton won 2 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals at the Olympics. And the internet? Al Gore was just getting it all started. And so is this web page. We will be adding videos, mp3, pictures, and more. Keep checking back.

A Little History........

And, while you were all engrossed in the above, a little known quartet from south west Ohio was lucky enough to win the 1984 Johnny Appleseed District quartet contest in their first appearance. Bustin' Loose's appeal was the unique combination of vaudeville like comedy and good singing.

Sort of like a vaudeville act that sings barbershop. That started an 8 year run of great friendships, loads of laughs, some modicum of contest success and the opportunity to meet some of the world's greatest people. Barbershoppers everywhere!

Tom Rouse - Baritone (Left)

Troy Kaper - Bass (Left Middle)

Marco Crager - Lead (Right Middle)

Dale Fetick - Tenor (Right)

As these things go, 8 years was a long run but all things must come to an end and the individual members went on to other endeavors. Troy Kaper-bass started singing in the men's gospel group called Legacy. Dale Fetick -tenor is a past international champion with Marquis. Marco and Tom went on to sing with "Rumors" for another 8 years into the early 2000s.

So, the families grew up, kids went on to college and the 20th anniversary of Bustin' Loose's district win came around. We all decided to do a cameo appearance at the JAD District Contest and we had such a great time together and received numerous requests to start accepting shows again, that we decided to dust off the old outfits (and they still fit - sort of), brush up the old routines, add some new stuff, and go back on the road.

With all that, we hope you enjoy Bustin' Loose as we pant, gasp, and laugh our way through the show. After all, we were younger then!
